Talk Hard!

I got a case of poison ivy that combined with everything else I keep up with and squeezed out this blog for a while.  I left out poison ivy when I wrote that article about having sex outside, because I wrote the article at a time of year when poison ivy was still quiescent. It’s not anymore. Reddish stalks, leaves of three.  Watch out!

(I didn’t catch it from having sex.  I was purposefully removing it from my property, but I was insufficiently protected, partly because I’ve never reacted to it before.  Let this be a lesson to you! Wear Protection! Just because you’ve gotten away with something many times, that doesn’t mean you’ll get away with it this time.)

It’s a gorgeous day here and I hope everyone out there has time to relax and connect with friends and family.  Don’t forget our soldiers who are far from home, as well as those who have served their time and are home and those who served and died. No matter what your service is, being away from home and loved ones is not easy. Those who have died for our country deserve our remembrance.

You can easily send an online message of support, or contact your local VFW or other organizations for more information on supporting both current troops and veterans. Ask your family about family members who have served. Go to your local cemetery and see how many graves have flags on them. Talk about what it means. Those of you who are too young to simply remember must first learn about the past in order to do so.  I hope you will take the time, today and throughout your lives.

I know, I know, you missed me. I was busy judging a science fair and determining the futures of a crowd of hopeful teens. So, you know, kind of what I’m doing here, only different.

But actually, as a matter of policy I may be taking Saturdays off. Give you time to catch up, give me time to try out important new things (last night it was Rock Band), and all that.

Another upcoming administrative thing is that I hope to make Wednesdays a guest blogger day. I’ll be posting something from our very first guest blogger this Wednesday, and we’ll see after that if we can maintain a regular schedule. If you have suggestions for who I should ask to guest blog (no suggestion too crazy) post them in comments here.
